In June 2019, University of Delaware Water Resources Center Director, Dr. Gerald J. Kauffman, was elected to a three-year term to the Board of Directors of the Universities Council on Water Resources UCOWR at the annual meeting along Little Cottonwood Creek, Utah. Established in 1964, UCOWR is a consortium of nearly 100 water research and education universities from across the United States. UCOWR Board members include faculty and scientists from the following universities: Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Penn State, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Kansas State, Delaware, Hawaii, California Berkeley, Washington State, and Southern Illinois.

Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) mission: UCOWR expands the capacity of universities and their partners to address current water resources challenges through sharing expertise, fostering leadership, and developing interdisciplinary collaborations.
